Artist Statement Hi, I have been through a lot recently but carried on with my painting and love of Art.
I try to show in my paintings a more cheerful & brighter world, influenced by artists such as, Marc Chagall, Mattise, Van Gogh, Japanese Prints, Stained Glass and many others, I love the beauty of the paints I use, the colours, the feel and smell of them and when we artists paint we can be transported into our own special place.
Last year my sister died, she had cancer, I held her hand in hospital and sadly she was gone. It was just over a year later when my partner was diagnosed with a brain tumour, he has recovered from the surgery and we are hopeful for the future. My partner is Japanese, and some of my recent work has been influenced by Japanese imagery. I own a modest house in the Abruzzo region of Italy where the scenery is un-spoilt and magnificent, its like going back in time! The quality of the light and beautiful Gran Sasso influence my work.
