Artist Statement When I was 16, my mother put a Pentax K1000 in my hands, showed me how to focus, advance and reload, and told me to go take pictures of kids "whistling" for an art project of hers. I had so much fun and met so many people, some of who are still in my life. I was hooked from that moment on. I joined yearbook in high school and became the unofficial photographer of all events in my life. As an exchange student in college, I was blessed enough to live in the United Kingdom for a while, traveling in all directions, inspired by the beauty and history everywhere I went. I love traveling and people, which are my two favorite subject matters, as you will discover when you view my photographs. I especially love achieving ethereal effects, to transport the viewer from reality to another place or time, another emotion deep inside that is yet undiscovered or long forgotten.
