Artist Statement Collage is a medium of visual art which has always fascinated me. The juxtaposition of different images, much like words in a book, tell a story. And, the viewer is often at the center of that narration. Observation of the built environment plays a huge role not only in my work but also in day to day life. It's not just people I am drawn to, it's the environment I find them in. Sometimes I use myself as a model for my collages and digital work. My art background is in fine art, i.e. painting, drawing, mixed media.
My education started out in magnet art programs in Miami, Florida from elementary through high school. My interdisciplinary higher education in Urban Studies, Visual Studies and Art History has a strong influence on my work. Currently, I am obsessed with digital projects, particularly photography and video. I only use photos and images that I have shot myself. I work mainly with Adobe Photoshop and shoot with my DSLR.
