Scott Hansen, Beaufort Member Since August 2007 Artist Statement Beaufort Photographer, Scott C. Hansen, is a long time resident of Beaufort, SC who loves capturing the beauty of the Lowcountry.
His photography interest started after taking a photography course as an elective at a local community college.
Scott joined the Marine Corps, and left for Boot Camp at Parris Island, in April of 1993.
After graduation, he was sent to be formally trained in photography at the Department of Defense Photography School in Pensacola, FL, where he ended up graduating first in his class.
Scott's first and only duty station was at the Marine Corps Air station in Beaufort, SC, where he served 4 years as a Combat Photographer. His photographic talent was quickly recognized, and Scott would often be be sent to cover key events.
It was while he was stationed at the Air Station that he met his bride to be, Laura, and they were married in August of 1997. Scott and Laura have two beautiful daughters.
Scott is well knows for his photography in the Beaufort Area. His work has been enjoyed and purchased internationally as well as his images being featured on the Smithsonian Channel and in Lowcountry Living Magazine.
