monkey business
some days seem endless non-stop carnivals of the mostly meaningless punctuated with things i have to do but never want to
shopping because the cupboard is bare laundry because theres nothing to wear the neighbor on the phone the sweater needing sewn
i long for nights dark curtain to drown the sharp outlines of what i do not wish to see to mute the frenzied symphony of days dreary activity i crave the comfort of the thriftshop chair and a book and a cup of tea
weary bleary almost teary i notice the short-lived almost-winter sun is dying good riddance to the hurly-burly darkness never falls too early for me
blue velvet slides down the horizon the play is ended we can all wipe off the greasepaint and go home ~ copyright 2015 RC deWinter
