Description Wasatch Mountains, Utah, USA 1306-4-1124 [2:3]Late spring, early summer capture high in the Wasatch Mountains on a hike to Lake Blanche, nestled at the base of Sundial Peak. The lake bed was anciently home to a glacier once upon a rock on this shoreline. Glacial scars are prominently visible in this shot.Although the sky was boring (no clouds), the sun provided a gentle, soft light, creating an incredible warm glow. This hike is not for car-shooters. It is a grueling 3.3 miles one-way up with a 2,700 foot (823m) gain! Thanks to friend and photographer, Steve Howa, who came along as my guide!

He strives to capture the finest nature scenes possible, frequently taking adventures to extreme levels to capture 'the shot.' He has experienced hypothermia, been stung by a scorpion, waited for hours in twenty degree (20F/-7C) temperatures, nearly stepped on a rattlesnake, and stood for hours under pelting rain through a lightning storm.
'Some say they lose themselves in one thing or another -- I find myself through photography -- losing only the sense of time.'
