Description Gibeau Orange Julep restaurant (also known as OJ or The Big Orange) is a roadside attraction and fast food restaurant in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The building is in the shape of a giant orange, three stories high with a diameter of forty feet.For a time, the Julep was noted for rollerskating waitresses but customers today order food in the more conventional fashion of a fast food restaurant. Food can then be taken away or eaten at one of a number of provided picnic tables. The restaurant operates 24 hours a day during summer and reduced hours in winter. The restaurant is located at the corner of Dcarie Boulevard and Par Street, just off the Dcarie Expressway, in the borough of Cte-des-NeigesNotre-Dame-de-Grce. It is just north of the equestrian harness racing track Blue Bonnets, and directly across the expressway from the landmark hotel Ruby Foo's. It is within walking distance of Namur Montreal metro station.Today, it also hosts classic car and motorbike enthusiasts on Wednesday
CAROLE SPANDAU, MONTREAL Member Since November 2010 Artist Statement Carole Spandau was recently honored with a prestigious televised interview on CTV NEWS NET featuring her delightful paintings of Montreal street scenes. The interview was shown coast to coast across Canada and it aired repeadedly resulting in a flood of new-client interest. She is now busily filling requests for her beautiful paintings of Montreal's magnificent winding staircases, nostalgic scenes of children playing hockey and popular Montreal landmarks. Carole Spandau is an exceptional artist who for over thirty years has painted daily life in Montreal.
As a talented young girl, she studied painting at the Montreal Museum of Fine Art with Arthur Lismer. In 1970 Carole obtained a B.F.A.from École des beaux arts in Montreal and a Bachelor's degree in Art Education from McGill University. Her beautifully detailed canvases capture the color, excitement and flavor of one of North America's great cities.
Through the years, Carole has exhibited her works in numerous galleries. She is currently listed with the Magazin'art Biennial Guide to Canadian Artists in Galleries. Carole's work can be found both in private and in corporate collections throughout the world.
