Artist Statement My name is Shaylee Carsten. I live in Amboy, WA with my fiance and we are expecting our first child in March. Some of our hobbies include hiking, animals, photography, fishing, really anything outdoors.

My biggest goals in life are to become an accomplished artist, see the world, be the best mother in the world to my daughter, and accomplish as much as I can before my days are over.
I love art because i like to express myself and I see art as a medium of communication. I like to see an artist's work and wonder who they are/what they were feeling when they created their work, and I wish to invoke the same thing through the art I create. However with my photography a different fact is true, that I probably wasn't thinking of relaying a message to the viewer, just trying to capture what I saw and make the viewer feel as if they were there with me.
