Artist Statement I am representing the artist Rudolf Bramermann. Rudolph is a borderline Xenophobe and has requested that I keep the details of his life confidential. I can tell you he lives and works at his home in Oakland. He is a quiet and extremely serious man rarely joking or smiling he remains contemplative in nature choosing to “interrogate life rather than live it.”
THE ARTIST ON ART
“I work with the thought that the painting already exists somewhere. By listening to my physical movement through time I feel directed by the painting. It uses a language not based in reason but in the freedom from reason. Basically it speaks volumes – rather than translate I am only able to trap in onto the canvas” – Rudolf Bramermann
UNDERSTANDING
Life and art spin cyclically around each other. (Living) bounces off of art and a cascade of color and texture suddenly grab the surface, trapped by the pigment. Life and art struggle to unite. The vibrations by this force can be seen as directly relational to the slow and subtle pattern making of our daily existence. Simply put these paintings attempt to trap the texture and color of our shared reality.
