Artist Statement Born in Vicenza, Italy, Giovanni Giaconi's approach to architecture began in 1985 while studying Architectural Renovation in Vicenza, Italy. He then refined his knowledge of planning and renovation as the assistant in the architectural firm of Flavio Albanese in Vicenza, and later in New York City. He worked in Manhattan for several years as project manager and designer on various architectural renovation projects.
Giovanni worked and traveled extensively in Europe, Asia, North and South America, he is also fluent in Italian, English, French, Greek... and is a skillful windsurfer.
He is the author of "The Villas of Palladio" published by Princeton Architectural Press, New York 2003.

These delicate pen and ink watercolor drawings presented on this site are the result of a painstaking process involving precise surveys and photography on the field in combination with a wealth of preparatory drawings (pencil on yellow trace paper). The outcome is a work that provides a detailed record of the present state conservation of the buildings.
