Artist Statement Hi my name is Annette and I am a self taught artist, creating paintings that will hopefully bring smiles to the faces of all people, from all walks of life.I would like to be a part of the wonderful world of art. I hope all of you will accept me as one of the Great artists that I have had the pleasure to see on this site. I hope you like my paintings My Styles and Photos.
When I was young and growing up, I always loved to draw. This cleared my head of the many problems in my life. I want to be happy and I'm now free of all my problems. I was also in the 911 North Tower of The World Trade Center when the planes hit. I was working as a Security Guard in the main lobby of the Merrill Lynch Building. My Art would take me away from the problems I had encountered before the World Trade Center. It makes me forget and now takes me into another 'World'. A safe world of my own. People were constantly putting me down by telling me I could not do things right or laugh at me. When this happened, My self esteem and confidence went right down the drain. These people didn't care if they hurt or damaged me .
Being that I was adopted, I was feeling so alone at this time. The mental abuse that I was put through ( which I'd rather not speak about now ) was quite horrific to me, as it would be to any young girl.
It was then that I had gotten into my painting "mode". Putting the brush on the canvas made me forget and let me live again. Being able to put my feelings on canvas was my own little 'Escape'. Being an artist makes me forget all of life's frustrations and hurt that I had endured. Thats why I fell in love with painting.
Today, Thanks to my Husband, my Older and younger sister,( God Bless Her Soul ) giving me all the support and confidence that I need, I am now living a happy & enjoyable life. It feels really good and I would like to say to people that have problems----------- PLEASE surround your life with good people and you'll be ok!!!!!!!! Then, put your mind on something that you wanted to do before.Things may have prevented you from doing things you love to do but cannot because of the bad things you went through In Life as I did. It will help forget and you will feel better about yourself like I do.Knowing that one of my paintings are hanging in clients homes truly makes me feel so positive and confident in my new 'LIFE'.
