Artist Statement I'm a native Californian. I was born and raised in Los Angeles, but was fortunate to move in 1989 to northern California. I'm a "self-taught" artist, started with oils, changed to watercolors, did pastels for awhile, and am now back to oils and plein air landscape painting. I've been painting full-time for more than 30 years. I belong to a group that paints in plein air every Monday and another that goes out every other Wednesday. A fellow painter and I go out on Fridays and are now doing a series in the town of Tomales.

Sonoma County is probably one of the most beautiful places to paint in the world. Besides all of the lush vineyards there are farms, lagunas, old buildlings, etc., etc. everywhere, and the weather is near perfect. What more could a plein air painter ask for?
