Artist Statement Johnathan Eastman is a freelance photographer residing in Sydney, Australia. Eastman works with digital cameras, and prefers to shoot in B/W mode digitally and restricts post computer production to a bare minimum. He has often been asked why he shoots in B/W and not colour, prefering not to manipulate in post production, and as he puts it, the image is shot in B/W because "this is how I see it in my minds eye". Once the image has been viewed in colour, even with manipulation, that is how it shall always be remembered. He has representation from stock agencies in various countries, images published in magazines and newspapers, and was the winner of the 2007 Photograph Australia Photo of the Year competition.
