Description Prince Michael Street is the main walking street in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia. It is a pedestrian zone and shopping center, protected by law as one of the oldest and most valuable landmarks of the city. It has a large number of impressive buildings and mansions built at the end of the 1870s. The street follows the central grid layout of the Roman city of Singidunum. During the time of Turks, there were gardens, drinking-fountains and mosques along its lengths. In the middle of the XIX century, the upper part of the street bordered the garden of Knez Aleksandar Kraorevi. After the implementation of the regulation plan of Belgrade (1867), by Emilijan Josimovi the street soon gained its current look and architecture. Houses were built there by the most influential and wealthiest families of Belgrade society. In 1870, city authorities officially named this street -Prince Michael Street.Ulica Kneza Mihajla je glavno etalite Beograda, prestonice Srbije. Glavna je peaka zona I oping centar, zatiena zakonom kao najstarija I najvrednija znamenitost grada. Ulica sadri veliki broj impresivnih zgrada I kua sagraenih na kraju 1870-ih. Ulica prati centralnu liniju gradnje rimskog Singidunuma. Za vreme vladavine Turaka, postojale su bate, esme I damije njenom duinom. Sredinom XIX stolea, via strana ulice graniila se sa batom Knez Aleksandar Kraorevi. Nakon dopune regulacionog plana gradnje Beograda(1867), by Emilijan Josimovi ulica Kneza Mihajla je dobila sadani izgled I arhitekturu. Kue graene u ovoj ulici pripadaju najbogatijim I najuticajnijim porodicama Beogradskog drutva. U 1870 gradske vlasti zvanino su nazvale ulicu Ulica Kneza Mihajla.
