Description A magical effect, Saucer Magnolia blossoms at the height of the season. There are so many blossoms, it is often hard to tell were one begins and another stops. The petals are so large that they overlap, so that one will have to look closely to see the individuals.
Ilona Trish Shaheen, Thousand Oaks Member Since April 2014 Artist Statement Painting “en Plein Air” is one of my greater joys. Sky, mountains, the sea and gardens allow inspiration to abound. Painting trips have often been to remote rivers and streams around the world, as my husband and son fish “Gold Medal Waters” for trout.
The series “Spring Dance” is of Magnolia Blossoms from a magnificent old tree at the Huntington Library. Pieces from that series have shown nationally from California to Georgia.
Soon to be uploaded are the paintings from the ongoing “Star Party” series. these paintings are based on the evenings of wonder, spent looking through my father’s 8 in reflector telescope at the night sky.
More will be revealed as I have time to upload pictures.
