Brandi Jasmine, Welland, Ontario Member Since November 2006 Artist Statement Brandi Jasmine began her artistic career by hand painting t-shirts in Vancouver BC's fashionable "Robson Street" district.
Brandi is proficient in photography, acrylics, watercolor, fabric-painting, line-drawing and painting, and she combines all of these mediums into a distinctive style she calls "photo-illustration". Most of her work is "hand-painted" or "hand-drawn" on computer, together with bits and pieces from photographs and paintings, together with the assistance of a Wacom Digitizer Pad.
She has painted on a wide variety of different non-traditional "canvases" including t-shirts, futon covers, mailboxes, but her most unique work of art is "the art car", which was retired from the road September 2005. Her most recent series of bead paintings are painstakingly glued together one bead at a time.
Brandi's artwork draws from a wide variety of styles and subject matter. Her fantasy and mystical style is influenced by the works of Maxfield Parrish and Wendi Pini.
