Description The 'Pull Tree Tram' located in the Chassahowitzka Wildlife Management Area of Hernando County, Florida. It was so named because this is the trail, or 'tram' down which huge cypress logs were dragged during the logging boom. This area also houses the remnants of the town of Centralia, which died when the logging industry pulled up stakes and left.
Phil Penne, Clearwater Member Since August 2014 Artist StatementMy photographs are my children.
Photography has been an important element of my life for over forty years. I use a digital camera, but have in the past used 35 millimeter, medium format, 'folding plate' cameras (including my favorite, a 1928 Zeiss-Ikon Donata) and several pinhole cameras of my own construct. Pinhole photography is still my favorite, even though I haven't done it in some time. There is something raw and perfect about this most ancient of photographic techniques that carries with it a certain allure.
