Description This image is of a 24' x 36' oil painting of purple cone flowers. In this painting, I was trying to emphasize the way the flowers orient to the sun, like worshippers. The dark yellow lines are a way of showing light being broken apart as it shines through the stems and flowers. The interplay of light and undergrowth creates new geometric shapes and an array of colors and forms which we can't always clearly distinguish.
