Artist Statement I recently graduated from Stanford University with my MS in Computer Science and am currently working as a software developer at Facebook. I never formally studied the visual arts, but I have been committed to the creative process ever since I discovered popsicle sticks and hot glue. Most of my work displayed here is oil or acrylic on canvas, however, over the years I have worked with mediums and art forms ranging from clay to fashion design to photography to 3D computer graphics.

In many ways, my artwork is a product of my passion for technology and the sciences. I find myself using the same concepts and structural thinking that I use in coding and graphic design when I am painting on canvas. Since we live in a world where computers can reproduce, even create works of art, in my work I attempt to enhance the qualities of the real world that only the human eye can appreciate. My work is energetic, and uplifting - seeking to be both beautiful and emotional. My paintings are inspired by sweet and powerful moments and people from my past: from baking “sweet dream pie” with my grandmother to the taking first bite of a juicy red tomato ripened by the sun.
