Artist Statement He has born in Madeira and studied at The Art Students League in 1978 and National Academy of Design School of Fine Arts in 1982. He then returned to Funchal and developed a highly singular type of painting ranging from a lyrical abstracionism to surrealism.
In the 1980´s nad 1990´s, he was often invited to show his work by the Regional Department of Tourism and Culture, and his exhibitions had record numbers of visitors. Loudly acclaimed and severely critised, his art is a critique of global society and features in private collections in Spain, Great Britain and Finlandia
