Description is about a time in my life when the people close to me showed me what they really thought of me and when they saw the person that I really was ,they couldn't handle it. So instead of putting the past behind us, they continued to treat the situation as a competition that they were winning. As long as there's a audience for evil, people will continue to practice it.
NICHOL GRANT, Stockton Member Since May 2009 Artist Statement I'm a self taught artist, my art training started with coloring books then I moved on to tracing characters out of comic, that taught me how to draw my own character's,I took a few art classes during my school year's but my biggest influence in art was graffiti and comic books.Art was just a hobby for many years until around 1996 when I realized it was a gift that was given to me.Reading books written by Iceberg Slim and Donald Goines inspired me to be honest and from the heart in the subject I choose to draw.Even though alot of the books were about the pimp game they were honest about the environment and the people, and the emotions that they felt. Artwork by famous artist like picasso, matise and fida showed me to enjoy the freedom in creating art and to be confidence in my own style.I've learned to use my environment and drawing from the heart helps me to stay motivated to create my artwork.
