Artist Statement I'm a biologist living in El Cerrito, CA, and going to school at Berkeley. Over two years ago, I started a daily photostream as a creative challenge. I travel fairly light, carrying my Canon A640 and a Gorillapod in my backpack wherever I go. Two common themes in my photos are night scenery and geometric patterns in surprising places around the Berkeley/Oakland area.

I also take an interest in public surfaces: streets, sidewalks, tables, street signs. These spaces, designed to endure heavy wear, bear the signs of their use--and occasional abuse. Sometimes, they can also reveal an accidental elegance.
