Artist Statement I’m a PhD candidate in Melbourne, working in microbial genetics. With all the hours spent in the sterile lab I find photography a perfect outlet for my creative side and a reason to take my lab coat off.

I use Canon EOS 7D (450D as a back-up) with Canon kit lenses (55-250m and 18-55mm), Canon 50mm f1.8, Sigma 10-20mm, Canon 100mm 2.8 IS USM L-series Macro, Canon 580EXII and 43oEXII flash units, a decent tripod and a fresh eye. I’m also mastering the secrets of Photoshop CS4
