Description A view of the dramatic red cliffs and the Colorado River located off of scenic Hwy 128 near downtown Moab in Utah. This classic, rugged Western landscape was the site of numerous films, including Rio Grande with John Wayne.
Bob Coyle, Travelers Rest Member Since November 2015 Artist Statement Bob grew up in northern New Jersey and graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He moved to Raleigh, North Carolina, to pursue graduate studies at North Carolina State University. In Raleigh, he fell in love with nature at Umstead and Eno River State Parks and joined the Capital Group Sierra Club to help ‘explore, enjoy, and protect the planet’. He later became Chair of the club and founder of the Triangle Environmental Network.
Bob met his wife, Jill, on the trail and they moved to South Carolina in 2014. They have the great fortune to live in the Foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The incredible hiking opportunities in the area provide the creative spark for his artworks in oil and acrylic painting and his nature photography.
“I love nature and hiking through our National Parks and other wilderness areas. All of my paintings and photography strive to capture the beauty of nature in a unique way. I love to use vibrant color to emphasize the striking collection of hues all around us and to capture the natural world through my lens.”
