Artist Statement I live in rural Cobble Hill, British Columbia, outside Victoria, on Vancouver Island.

I attended Kootenay School of Art and the University of Victoria and have more than one degree in the arts- though none in Photography. My other artistic pursuits are/have been ceramics, fibre arts and restoration of heritage buildings.

All of the photos which appear on my work were taken by me. I use and have used a variety of cameras. I have taken photos since I got my first Brownie camera too many years ago! Currently I own and use an Exacta VX with a variety of Carl Zeiss lenses, an Olympus OM1-n with various lenses, a Canon S2 IS (digital) and an Olympus E-620 (digital) with various lenses.

My photography work is an outgrowth of the rest of my life. Most of the photos I think of as "recordings"- where I go and what I do, the changing seasons of the year and of life in general. I photograph my work, my travels, my food, my pets, my farm, people and places I know and discover. I don't do a lot of manipulation of images or colours. I don't generally work on commission, though I might if the subject lent itself to my interests.
