Description I went out reefnetting last weekend. This type of fishing is only done off Lummi Island in the Puget Sound. We were only open for pinks and had to release all sockeye salmon because of low returns. At one time there was maybe seventy "gear" out here now there are only about seven remaining. Reefnetting as a commercial venture is in great danger of becoming obsolete as the salmon are coming back in lower and lower numbers.
