Description R.L. Burnside was one of the most amazing musicians I had the pleasure of meeting and working with, a 'real' Delta bluesman, towards the end of his life, which was when I had the chance to work with him, he had to sit to play, and he always asked for his 'Uncle' to be waiting for him onstage, 'Uncle' Jack, being Jack Daniels of coursehis grandson Cedric was his drummer, and he had a great guitarist in Kenny Jones, the tour was one of the hardest I ever had to do, and if R.L. hadn't been on the tour to lift my spirits every night, I would have walked, he was a true gentleman, and was always respectful and polite to those who worked to make his shows happenat the end of the tour I dropped him off at the Schipol Airport in Amsterdam, and he hugged me and thanked me for getting his ailing old body through the tour, and then he handed me the guitar he had used on the tour as a thank you present, I was so stunned by his act of generosity that I didn't have the presence of mind to ask him to sign it, and he has since passed away, but I will never forget this awesomely talented and wonderful humanthe guitar still takes pride of place on my office wall, and despite the fac that I can't play I do like to hold it and it brings back some wonderful memories tooRIP RLR.L. Cedric, Kenny, all feature in this video'Shake 'em on Down' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1V9mb__6yVYYup Tis me with the guitar !
