Description I don't know how I draw most of my drawings and Rudy is no exception. I am a totally untrained artist and faces like Rudy's show, I think, what it's like to be an outsider.
Faith Peeples, Pittsburgh Member Since March 2009 Artist Statement I have been labeled an "outsider artist" by curators and gallery owners. I began sculpting and drawing quite suddenly in 1997 after a series of traumatic events that resulted in a disability. Art is therapeutic for me. Most of my work comes from my imagination and life experiences. I usually draw with pencils, including watercolor and oil pencils, and I sometimes paint with pastels. In my previous life I was a researcher at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. I much prefer the life of an artist and could never go back to the "mainstream" work world. This is the first time I have tried to sell my art and I'm curious to see how it goes!
