Description A modified version of 'Allure,' painted by request (I was asked to paint the most disturbing, but still work-safe thing possible on a short deadline, and this was the result). I wanted to evoke a feeling of 'ruined beauty' in the piece by making her modifications obvious and hideous, but allowing enough of the girl underneath to show through so that a viewer could understand what she once was.
Andrew McIntosh, Bellevue, WA Member Since September 2007 Artist Statement I'm an artist working in the video game industry, and I love to draw, paint, and sculpt in my spare time. While most of my work is digitally created, I love the look and feel of traditional painting, and the techniques that I use in my digital work are traditional in nature. The artists I look to for inspiration include Tony DiTerlizzi, Brian Froud, Brom, Drew Struzan, Raven Mimura, and Arthur Rackham, among others.
Update: I've recently had to move some more my more popular images into a new gallery, marked private, in order to facilitate their hanging in gallery shows and their sale as limited edition prints. As soon as I have a personal website put together, I'll provide a link so that anyone interested can look at them again, but for the time being the "Can I Keep It?" series is regrettably unavailable.
