Artist Statement Carrie Glenn is an up-and-coming, internationally collected American artist, creator and visionary. Born Carrie Jackson (May, 1980) in Salem, Oregon Carrie came from a background of very little means. She initially began creating artwork as an escape from her own life’s harsh realities. Carrie created many of her own toys and games out of necessity and often entertained herself and others with her stories and creations. Carrie lived in a world of her own imagination and this developed a strong sense of creativity, innovation and invention in her life. She comes from a mixed heritage of Russian Jewish, Slovakian and Native American (Cherokee) and was home schooled. She spent much of her youth traveling across the U.S. with her family living a nomadic lifestyle. Carrie has lived all over the U.S. from the East coast, to the West coast, having moved well over 20 times and counting. Through Carrie’s travels she was exposed to a wide variety of different cultures, environments and concepts that have helped shape and influence many of her views visible in her artwork. Some of the more interesting environments that impacted Carrie Glenn’s art, include living on a film set during production of a movie in California and meeting and staying with legendary stuntman Bob Yerkes (known for his work on movies like “Back to the Future”, “Star Wars:Episode VI” and “Hook”). Carrie actually earned and received Bob Yerkes’ official “Stuntmans Association” badge, for stunt work she did at his training camp in California, during his training of the actor Jeff Cohen, (the character Chunk) for the movie “Goonies”. During Carrie’s time living on the film set she met many different actors, artists and media professionals who helped open her artistic eyes and broaden her vision to the world of arts. Carrie has had many encounters with film from both sides of the camera. As a young girl Carrie Glenn appeared on a talk show alongside Dale-Evans Rogers (Roy Rogers’s wife), sang in a commercial for a educational phonetics program, and appeared in a commercial for a family abuse hotline. It’s some of these experiences that really pushed Carrie out of her box, which can be seen clearly in her artwork. The professionalism, drama and beauty Carrie Glenn captures in her art are very more

Artists Statement:

"I enjoy creating bold artwork that moves people and I really want my work to entertain others the way motion pictures do. My heart’s desire is is that I leave my audience with an experience not just a visual. Most of the artwork I create I have seen in a dream, but I also pull a lot of inspiration from life and nature. I really pour my energy, my feelings and myself into every piece of art I create. I hope to leave a fingerprint of myself in my work. Because of this and the passion I put into my art, I believe my work holds a type of life and that this creates a special, personal experience between my artwork and my viewers. I like to keep my relationship between my artwork and myself pure and heartfelt. I create what I love, color, boldness and captivating scenes that I hope captivate others as well."
