Artist Statement Sandy started her art career after raising 5 children. She picked up her first paint brush in 1997, with artist friend Jan Holman. Several of her early paintings were shown at the prestigious Hilltop Gallery in Prescott, Arizona. She has attended various workshops with artists such as Doug Oliver and those from the Scottsdale Artists’ School.

Her contemporary artwork has been chosen to be in the Best of American Artists 2009 book. From 2006-2009, she and her husband opened a gallery in the art hub of Carmel-by-the-Sea called Sandy By The Sea and sold many of her paintings there along with other artists work.

She is also an author and also writes poetry and that love blended with her artwork and now accompanies some of her larger oils, expressing her sentiment in rhymed verse and metaphors.

Sandy has been a member of the Oil Painters of America and California Art Club and the American Society of Marine Artists.

She says, "I love the clouds, sunsets, flowers, trees and the sea and I strive to make everyone feel as if they were there with me."

Sandy's motto is "God is the ultimate artist, I only paint what He already did."
