Description There is a lot going on in this painting. I definitely used more colors than I normally use for a single painting, but for this piece, I wanted to separate some subjects from others. Most importantly here, the gray shaded hands in the fire (symbolizing the impending fires of hell) represent souls that are lost. They tried to reach salvation themselves through actions, but they do not have the power to climb out of the flames of hell. The pair of hands holding the cross (shaded in brown) are meant to portray a soul accepting Gods Salvation. The cross symbolizes the one, true and only rescue from the despair of hell. The larger hand is intended to be that of Jesus Christ my Lord. His sacrifice enables sinners like us to cross the divide between hell and the glory of Heaven.Original Painting is acrylic on 24 X 48 stretched canvas.
