Artist Statement My name is Ruska, and I am a painter.
I have been painting since I was a child.
I grew up into art. My mother was a painter. Through her, I learned art is my world.
I try to express my soul through the colors in paintings. The colors of my dreams, of the past, the present, and the future.
I tell our stories. Stories of love, of hate, of despair, frustration, wishes and passion.
When I was 14 years old I started secretly visiting the college of art in my city of Sofia, where I learned of anatomy, techniques with oil , acrylic and pastel.
The colors, the smell, and the feeling of being alone after hours in the atelier was magical .
My wish was to keep falling in love with the "perfume" of the colors and the atmosphere, but my family couldn't afford to fund my studies in the academy.
In 2010 I had my first independent exposition which was titled "Travelling through Dreams". 30 paintings were displayed making use of different techniques , conveying the one and only meaning - our dreams are our reality.

My life is art. As are all our lives.
