Artist Statement Almost imperceptibly, my creativity grew as I painted over the last two decades. Friends and family said my painting was special, but it took several years for me to see my work through their eyes. I now identify myself as an artist. When I stopped trying to paint something that looked like a photograph and freed my mind to express itself without limits, I started to be surprised what I saw evolve on my canvas. I never predict when a work will be finished. Instead, I wait until I look at my artwork and no longer find anything I want to change—a period that can take months.
