Description This is a twist on an old classic. A friend had sent me some homemade blackberry jalapeno jam. Delicious on toast or meat, I had other ideas and took it to one of my local watering holes. The bartender, on seeing it, immediately knew what he wanted to do with it. The result was one of the most interesting, and tasty, cocktails I've had. We made it with rye instead of the more traditional brandy and bourbon combination. The rye, coupled, with the jalapeno, made for a drink with a light heat that snuck up on you as you drank it, but didn't overpower the other flavors of the cocktail.
