Donna Chance Hall, Shreveport, Louisiana Member Since October 2016 Artist Statement Photography, for me, is merely the act of sharing what I see with others: doing my best to find and immortalize the almost forgotten moments. Because a photo is only a fraction of a second in time, I see the world around me as an endless array of photographic possibilities. I appreciate the beauty and love of life that I see every day and my greatest joy is to share those moments with others. My choice of subjects stems largely from the idea that more often than not, people tend to look but not see or look but not remember. By capturing images, it allows the viewer to see and remember – to become more engaged and introspective about the moment I’ve captured. The photo becomes an extension of a moment that I experienced and preserves it forever. I love that sentiment. From wildlife to people to pets and landscapes, my driving philosophy is to push the observer toward seeing past what was being photographed and instead imagine themselves as part of the photograph seeing it with fresh eyes and making it their own experience. I would be honored to have my artwork displayed in your home or business.
