Artist Statement Michelle Noe discovered her talent as a visual artist in grade school. Her first painting in 3rd grade left such an exciting impression upon her that she began painting at home. Her abilities were recognized by art associations that granted her scholarships to art classes for children. In high school Michelle continued to win awards and learn additional mediums, such as drawing and sculpting. Encouragement from friends and family allowed Michelle to explore mural painting. Her parents allowed her to paint on the walls of their family home. Other friends and family members responded positively by requesting murals in their homes as well.

Michelle’s professional career as an artist began in college at the University of Kentucky, while pursuing an Art Studio degree, concentrating in mural painting. Michelle was continuously commissioned by corporate and private patrons for murals and fine art. Concurrently, Michelle’s artwork on canvas and in clay won awards, including acceptance into international juried exhibits. Later, she exhibited her work in art fairs and galleries.

To develop her range of visual expression, Michelle has completed apprenticeships with professors and professional artists. As apprentice to professor and internationally renowned artist, Arturo Alonzo Sandoval, Michelle assisted in the fabrication and installation of "Appalachian Knobs", a 60-foot, woven metal sculpture for the London, Kentucky Courthouse. Other mentors have included Clay Architectural Muralist, Juliet Ehrlich, and internationally renowned bronze sculptor, Bob Lockhart.

Beyond university, Michelle has continued work as a professional artist and as a muralist. Commissioned murals encompass a wide variety of subjects and range from single walls to entire rooms. Collaborating with clients, Michelle has also created fine art canvases and clay reliefs for patrons.

Michelle’s most recent bodies of work are now available here on ImageKind and at her website, www.MichelleNoe.com
