Artist Statement My artistic voyage started at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Sarajevo,Yugoslavia (1987-1992) and Academy of Design in Frankfurt, Germany (1993-1994).
In 1995, I became member of German National Association of Fine Artists, holding exhibitions between 1992 and 1996.
1995-1996: National Gallery of Fine Arts, Frankfurt, Germany
1994: Gallery Finkenhof, Frankfurt, Germany
1993: Gallery Crown, Offenbach, Germany
1992: Academy of Fine Arts and Design, Sarajevo,Yugoslavia
In 1996, I moved from Frankfurt, Germany, to Sydney, Australia, and my interest partly shifted from two- to three-dimensional works. They varied in form and size: from very small pieces such as jewelry to ‘walk-in’ sculptures in the form of curved architectural walls, and unique coffee shops and bars.
I went back to the galleries, creating a new form of mixed media - ‘sculptographics’ - that united painting, print and sculpture. These works included:
2007: French-Japanese Connection, Sydney, Australia
2006: Art Zone, Sydney, Australia
2005: Albury Cellar Gallery, Sydney, Australia
I remember shapes came first and I was happy with drawing for a while but I was never fully committed to art until I started to experiment with colors.
The process of combining colors began with very simple three color schemes and gradually evolved to multiple color levels.
I had been working on various forms of art separately - painting, sculpture, print and photography - and trying to combin
them together in new art form.
I added the element of light to my art with my latest fluorescent paintings. Only recently, have I started to think of combining music into my next mixed media projects, creating a new way of animating images.
