Artist Statement I was born on the lovely island Mors in Denmark 1971. I've always loved nature and spent a lot of my time outside when I was a little girl. I still remember how fascinated I was, staring at the beautiful flowers in my grandmothers garden.
What I also enjoy, besides all the beautiful colors and forms that nature so generously provides, is the sense of freedom and uplifting energy I receive from being in nature.
Today I live close to the North Sea and have the woods nearby, too, and I still feel very much alive when I go for a walk with my dog in the unique scenery around me.
I've been drawing ever since I was a child, attended art school as an adult and have now painted for 15 years.
My illustrations and paintings are mainly inspired by nature. It might be a beautiful flower, a plant or a stone's pattern and douche nuances or maybe an interesting structure on a seashell that catches my eyes.
- I guess, by focusing on a tiny part, it seems (almost) possible to capture the essence of my subject!
I wish to remind people to be aware of the beauty and mystery that are here all around us in the smallest of things, if only we pay attention!
