Artist Statement Since receiving my first film camera at the tender age of 8, I have developed a life-long fascination with the power of great images.

I am a photographer who is dedicated to creating memorable images shot only in Available Light. I specialize in Fine Art Portraiture, and Urban Scenes.

Available light requires not only a thorough knowledge of ones equipment and post production techniques, but an intimate understanding of the many dimensions of light itself. The time of day, month, and year all yield unique challenges for an available light photographer. Luckily, during our "very gray" winter skies here in Seattle provide some of the best shadowless light available anywhere. Combine this natural phenomenon with a ready pot of coffee, and you'll begin to understand why I'm here.

My photographic goal is to create images that are as real, human, and lifelike as possible. Available Light photography is unique as only it can bring a warmth, texture, and human feel that can’t be easily duplicated in artificial light. While there are times where strobes and flashes are completely necessary, I try to use them to a minimum.
