Artist Statement I began my photographic journey about 30 years ago when I purchased a Minolta 35mm manual camera. Over the years, I picked up tips from books and other photographers. I also had the opportunity to learn to develop, and print black and white film. I've tried pinhole and 3-D photography. I couldn't afford to do photography for many years so digital cameras and Photoshop allow me to return to a fun and creative means of personal expression.

We all have stories to tell and pictures are a powerful means for illustrating them. I haven't even begun to tap my real creativity because I have thousands of unsorted photographs to scan and and play with.

One of my galleries focuses the human aspect of Hurricane Ike, which was a powerfully emotional experience. We're still recovering from that and I hope to use my pre-hurricane photographs to help people in my local area -- Kemah, Seabrook, Galveston -- to recover. The shops and waterfront areas are wonderful places to relax, people watch, and photograph.

I enjoy sharing my journey through life with as many people as I can. I also learn a lot by viewing the wonderful creative expressions of fellow artists.
