Artist Statement "Paint in my hair. Paint on my feet." That's her style. Fine artist with a studio in Bentonville, Arkansas, Jaquita paints the familiar and the unfamiliar. Color rules are optional in her work. Her paintings are to be enjoyed, taking the viewer to new vistas or engaging with critters from near and far.

Jaquita's work has been collected for more than 40 years. She began her career as a courtroom artist, covering nationally covered murder trials to local politics. Just in case she doesn't have her sketch pad or plein air equipment with her, she always carries a camera with her in order to capture that unusual scene she encounters. This includes driving through thunderstorms to immortalize that certain cloud, to climbing farmers' fences to get up close and personal with just the perfect donkey. It is why you will see such a diversity in her work, she wants to reflect the subject matter in her style, whether it be graphic color or traditional muted landscapes ... to her, its the subject matter that drives the painting.
