Description Shields are a series of digitally enhanced circular pen and ink drawings, most of which have nine interconnected points that create a continuous pattern. They were inspired by a variety of ancient images, carvings, mandalas, labyrinths, and talisman.Early visual artist, regardless of the culture, all used similar lined patterns and geometric shapes to capture the imagination and convey the intangible. The Shields Series is a tribute to those artists.
