Artist Statement I started painting when I was 12. It began with a drawing I had done with markers. My grandfather liked it and suggested I enlarge it. Since he was an artist, I listened to him and let him teach me how to copy my own small work into a larger painting on a canvas. I loved doing it so I just kept going.
