Artist Statement Be it architecture, abstract painting, or photography in a lifetime of artistic experiences I have always noticed how my environment influences me and how I influence my environment. I often find myself absorbed with how people move in the world. How they walk. How they sit. How they move their hands when they talk. Everyone and everything creates shapes when they move. Some people's movements are fluid and organic, like a stream or clouds. Others are more direct and mechanical. So there is always this clash of shapes and colors, and those shapes and colors translate back into the environment. Places that once had a purpose are interesting examples of this cause and effect relationship, especially when compared and contrasted with the shapes and forms of nature that eventually overtake them. This is at the core my interest. To capture the influence of motion and time in a subject.
