Leslie McCullough-Payne, Millersburg, MO Member Since January 2007 Artist Statement Hello,
Welcome to my gallery, I hope you enjoy the work, and I will update images from time to time so that you will have new selections throughout the year.
I live on a farm in mid Missouri with dogs, cats, horses, and a macaw, along with several befriended deer, squirrels, ect. I enjoy my life and paint pieces baised upon visual images from nature, visual ideas from books I have read, and those images which just are given to me; therefore, my work is varied in content. I use style as a means to express my intention so my work will seem more symbolist at one time and more realistic at others, whatever style suites the intended idea is the style I use, one gallery in New York best described my work as "quasisurreal expressionism" and I like that descripltion.
I have shown work in galleries in New York City, Los Angles (Hollywood), Montreal, and Hollywood, Flordia. My work has been included in numerous international, national and regional juried exhibitions.
