Artist Statement:

My work focuses on art as a sacred practice and as a tool for working with the unconscious to heal and restore balance. I find it to be a powerful process for self-expression and self-discovery, on a personal level, and for initiating dialogue and building community, on a larger scale.

I work in an array of media including: painting, drawing, mask making, poetry, and performance art.

For me, art is a meditation on my experiences: being awed by the mystery of life, being fully present for both the ecstasy and the pain, accepting and embracing the totality of life while seeking to remain centered in peace and love amid it all.

I believe that creative expression, at its best, is a gentle way to restore balance, and is a form of sacred devotion to oneself, to humanity, to our planetary home – Mother Earth, and to the divine spark of creative life force that moves through all.
