Artist Statement I matriculated from the Belgravia Art High School in 1973 and then went off for National Service, where I first became interested in photography. After military service I went to the Port Elizabeth Technicon to study the subject.

In 1978 I moved to Johannesburg where I landed a job in an advertising agency as a copywriter, which I have been doing ever since, apart from stints as a radio news reader and also as a professional actor!

Over time I forgot about photography but after meeting my wife in 1984 I bought myself a used Olympus SLR and began taking pictures again. I bought a Fuji Finepix s5600 digital a few years ago and am still using it.

As for my photography I enjoy finding beauty, shapes or patterns in the commonplace and everyday objects and scenes around us. When I can get into the country I also indulge in landscapes and skyscapes. But really, I'm interested in anything that catches my eye. In do not like overly processed digital creations and try to leave my photographs as close to what I see as possible.
