Artist Statement Many artists before me have recognized, interpreted, and applied their interpretation of what they see using techniques studied and developed from influences of others. You may detect some influence in my work by painters such as Thomas Moran or more recent artists like Christopher Clark. I’m self-taught and learn by reading about and viewing works of many artists including Monet. I believe my studies have allowed me to explore and adapt techniques that provide me with the opportunity to communicate my unbiased interpretation of the beautiful world in which we live. So much emphasis is given to the ugly side of life in our daily lives but I believe there is much good and God given beauty that merits attention. My paintings are primarily landscape and seascape scenes with an occasional venture into other interests.
The most recent exhibitions of my work include shows at the Benfield Galley in Severna Park, Maryland and shows sponsored by the Arts Council of Anne Arundel County including artwork currently on display at the BWI Airport and AAMC, Annapolis, Maryland. I’ve also exhibited solo in the past.
My paintings have received awards, been covered by local and statewide newspapers, and digitally displayed at the Louvre in Paris.
