Artist Statement Step inside Studio by the Sound -- you will find enchanting views of gardens, landscapes, doorways and familiar images that delight your senses. Each Kathy Johnson watercolor evokes her vision of a world in harmony with natural beauty.

A love of color and pattern come from studies in textiles and work as a textile designer while living in Hawaii. Her emphasis on harmonious color combinations has led to work in architectural color consulting today.

Kathy maintains a studio near the Puget Sound which continues to provide inspiration for her paintings and illustrations.

Some of her clients include: Nordstrom, Northwest Cellars, Prudential Insurance, Allport Editions, Sunrise Publications, Papyrus, Borders, Seattle Art Museum, Tacoma Art Museum, Michigan State University, Saratoga Rotary Art Show, Googol Press and Museum of Northwest Art.
